Yes...so Armadale in WA would get a differing premium to Armadale in Victoria!

Probably. Especially if they spell it Armidale
Adjacent postcode can give different premiums

$50k?

I'm with Shannons as well, no issues getting insurance. The premium is also affected by how many km you indicate you will do

I repair cars for both Shannons and Dawes, both are very good to deal with but I am starting to fall over the Dawes side of the fence. Shannons are underwritten by Suncorp (AAMI) and I am seeing some AAMI practices now being taken on by Shannons, they are starting to sublet their assessing out to commercial companies and quite often I get assessors out here that have no clue what they are talking about because they have been assessing Holdens and Falcons all their lives and have no idea of the time and care that has to be taken with older cars, all the arguing ect that I have to do with them can hold the repair time up whilst I get the vehicle re assessed by somebody higher up the ladder. Dawes are now underwritten by Wesfarmers and so are LSV, they too use contractors to assess the work but generally they have specialist people for specialist cars and to date they have just left me to determine how the car SHOULD be repaired and not how they want it repaired. All my insurance here is through Lumley as they were nearly half the price of Shannons, my personal XR8 Falcon was quoted at $990 by Shannons and $510 by Lumley, you would think Shannons would at least try and compete.

Yes. Premium is fine, agreed value of $600k is a joke. I'm going ring Shannons and tell them you are scamming them. It's guys like you that raise the premiums for the rest of us. While I'm at it I'll call the ATO as well. Pensioner with $600k cars :shakeshead:

its called repacement value.
For that matter the Boxer was cheap to insure as well, the Bentley's annual premium was pocket money, and those cars are expensive to repair being coachbuilt, were do you find a panel for one or a radiator, you don't.

Unhappy

Shannons have been very good to me-my 308 has an agreed value of $65 000 and the premium is just over $800 on club plates.
I had my Stag, Alfa Sud Sprint, first gen CR-X, '69 Stingray and 911 3.2 all insured by them and EVERY time, they were the cheapest.
I concur that Janne has been hard done by Shannons. I do agree with WRXMIKE that post code has a large bearing on premiums but given I live next to the MCG and have those stark raving Collingwood fans to deal with every other week, my premiums should be through the roof.
You should see what they do to my bins if I forget to take them in before a match.
