The dream car

Was surfing the net just for fun last night. When I do that I usually end up on Dodge Chargers.

So I saw this one that was just sold recently. http://www.rkmotorscharlotte.com/sal...ger-R-T/132890

If I ever get a few millions on the account I will track down this car and buy it, even at overprice if I have to! This is like THE dream car to me. More than any supercar.

It's 100% original, matching numbers. Doesn't get better than that.

When I was taking pics of the American cars earlier in the week, I found myself being a little disappointed that most of the original looking cars were modded in some way. Either different rims, different steering wheel, modded engine or something.

I have grown out of that. That was cool when I was 20. Now I appreciate them original instead.

Anyone else feel the same?

When it's that rare of a car, the originality is a big part. I still like modded cars, but subtle. For me the perfect muscle garage would be an all original Boss 429, and a restomod 67 fast back. All original body, but modern underneath. Something I could enjoy driving with out worry.

But that is a very awesome car with a really cool story. Couldn't imagine having that for a first car.

Yeah I agree.

I wouldn't want it to drive around daily. Only go to shows and stuff like that.

Then I could have a cheaper one as a daily driver or something.

I do like modded cars, but more like streetrods and the likes

Great cars

I OWNED A 2009 crt WITH A PISTOL GRIP AND IT WAS FUN AS AN EVERYDAY DRIVERS. nOT A SPORT CAR IN MY VIEW PERHAPS NOT EVEN SPORTY.

I JUST TRADED UP TO A SRT and it is quite a different animal. While not really fast it is fun to drive in sport mode and it has a decent anount of torque. The shifting is close to Porsche which is stunning and silky smooth. The shifter has a wonderful feel.

I am not sure I would call it sporty but it is close and I would not argue with anyone who did. You will not out run any ferraris but you will have fun driving it. Chrysler is still behind in technology as evidenced by the shear weight of the car compared to modern offering from other manufacturers. But I love the exterior lines, the intake sound which is unique and the power. They are a blast to drive

I like street rods. I've wanted to build a hot rod 40-50's pickup for a while. Late 30's would be even cooler. Look cool, sound amazing, quick off the line, but nothing I would kill myself in. Like a cruiser vs a crotch rocket.

I guess I'm still 20 because I think there's nothing more boring than the typical stock muscle car. Except for a very few extremely rare models most muscle cars are pretty boring in their original configurations. Other than those few exceptions like L-88 Corvettes, Boss 429 Mustangs, Hemi 'cudas, etc. I like them tastefully modified.

That's a nice GTO. One thing I've seen lately is the cars modded to the period. Those are pretty cool. Doing what would have been done when it was purchased new. But that's what's great about cars. Do what you want.

They are a huge car. I picked up a 2012 Caravan R/T for the wife, kid and dog, and they had one in the show room, hell it was just as big as the Caravan! Lower but just as wide and long, what a pig...

Might be heavy, but I road tested one of the SRT Challengers when they first came out-the car ran 174mph bone stock and was as steady as any euro car at that speed. Not a bad GT car with plenty of vintage style.

I don't dream about American muscle cars (know too little about them), but I always preferred the look of Charger Pro Touring... My one and only American muscle "dream car".

Anyone know how much these Dodge Chargers can be had for?

That Charger is a beauty no doubt, they sail panels are gorgeous

I'm rebuilding my 68 Vette roadster w a new custom frame w an LS7 & C6 suspension, trans etc

Gonna have Caravaggio do the interior in cream leather & make it look like a 60s Ferrari inside

My CRT had posts that vame thru the hood and the cables that came from the bottom bumpers to the posts. That and a pistol grip shifter made me fall in love.

While I loved the car it drove like a muscle car of the 70's. Some may call it a pig to us old guys it was a awesome car to look at. But it was not a great driver and it wallowed around corners if you tied to make it pretend it was. Just a car to slowly cuise in.

The SRT is dramatically better maybe moved into the 80-90's. Fun to drive but just a better cruiser and it is huge and heavy. I still like it

If I want to play a little harder after a cruise I would pick one of many other cars.

Dodge is behind technology wise. I had a 2009 viper that was 600 hp and one of the most beautiful cars on the road. The chasis felt unsettled and unsure of itself. I must confess I never really enjoyed driving the car hard or even in a sporty manner. To me the 600 hp Viper was closer to but not quite as quick as the 500 hp Z06 which handles better and a more honest handling car. It can be argued that Mopar is ahead in the exterior design of cars. I think they are stunning and the intake manifold sound is very inventive!

I am looking forward to seeing the new Viper maybe it will have European handling with strong American power.
