anyone have a thoughts on actually selling prices.... bunch of no mile cars asking $165 to the moon...

thinking about something 4-8k miles...... $140k ish ?

You can find a driver starting around $130k I believe.

I'm thinking of pulling trigger next year after I wrap up a project

These cars have retained their value amazingly well. Before they came out pundits on this forum predicted they would be below $100k within months of the end of production.

i guess i was one.... i had my checking waiting at $100k. they dropped to around $125kish and never looked backed.

American muscle has appreciated much better than similair Euro Supercars excepting the 50's & 60 racing Ferraris. Thats why the Ford GT will maintain its value & probably start appreciating eventually

I would not have guessed this market right either.

There are a bunch that have been cracked up a bit by now. So beware. Also beware driving them.

It's very hard for me to believe these cars will appreciate much. Where would they go?

Same thing happened to me, I was hoping to pick one up for $100k that never happened, lowest I saw $125K.

I recently sold 2 of them.

The first car was a 2006 Tungsten/grey stripe 4 option car with 36xx miles in perfect condition. It sold for $160K.

The second car was a late 2005 blue/white stripe 4 option car with 12K miles, whipple, exhaust, spec clutch, Millen axles and other goodies and sold for $140K.

In my opinion, these cars are one of the best value's and also in my opinion, the best bang for the buck "super" car available today. They will never be $100K cars because with today's safety and fuel consumption standards there will never be another American car like it....ever. The ZR1 doesn't compare to the GT so please don't use that as an example.

Before someone starts on the biased comments, yes I'm a prior GT owner, but I'm also a prior Ferrari, Jaguar, BMW and now Lamborghini owner so I'm a CAR enthusiast not a GT centric enthusiast.

That's my .02 and worth every penny paid for it

I have been watching this market for several years. I am torn between the Ford GT and 1999 Diablo roadster. I know I would drive the Diablo more but the GT is a better investment in the long run.

Several years ago there were nice GT's available in the $145K range. Today, they are in the $165K+ range and a rebuilt one (salvage title) is in the $130K range. So, I agree that these cars are only going to appreciate, but you won't really be able to drive them if you want them to keep their value. my 2 cents.

Only if the stock market crashes to a DOW of 5,000. I don't think you are going to see a low mileage one for under $165K.

After 4 years and 5,000 trouble free miles, the Ford GT is still the most fun on wheels I have ever had. As more get wrecked, I don't see them depreciating from where they are right now, in the $150-170k range depending on condition.

I think the markets will take a hit or 2 within the next 2 years. RE market is still dropping like a stone in many parts.

Things are coming together in a bad way, we could see another drop similair to late 2008 within next 18 months. Thats when I'll be jumping into the market & probably a GT as well

Well, until the market gets bad enough that those with big money are tightening purse strings, I don't think that the GT will drop in value. Just my $0.02.

Really?? At $269k?? Shelby's prices are among the highest there are. He doesn't give cars away.

It's a bargain if you think modified cars will appreciate, but generally it's the original cars that get the big bucks over time.
