Rosso Rubino

I saw a Rossa Rubino 458 at the dealer yesterday.

This color is absolutely gorgeous. I mean drool will fall uncontrollably from your mouth.

Anyone considering this, take it. It has a slight burgundy wine color (some may even say a bit purple) feeling but the depth of the color is amazing.

The car I saw had a beige interior but I think cuoio or black would also work.

No matter what car that color is on - the overwhelming beauty just about makes me pass out.

You have been on this forum long enough to know better than to post something like this without a pic.

I know but it never looks the same on a camera phone. I tried looking on google images and couldn't find one.

But, I can tell you that in person it's fantastic.

Yes, that's it. But, I think these look a bit more purple. To me, it was a very dark red wine color in metallic.

out of range

Rubino Metallizato is a 9k 'out of range' paint color. This 599 is one example Rubino. For comparison I think the 458 is Rosso Fiorano . The dealer previously had a SuperAmerica also in Rubino.

Looks out of place on the 599 (as do all shades of red IMHO), but sure suits the 458.

I had a Rosso Rubino 612. The color is stunning. Pictures don't do it justice.

It's hard to tell but the 458 may be the tri-layer Rosso Maranello

Here is a known sample of Rosso Maranello courtesy of Onno http://ferrarichat.com/forum/showthr...#post141320653 Note the different tone between the sunlit and shadowed portions. To me it does look like the 458 above.

As for Rubino the some of the earliest cars by Enzo were done in a similar winey color, such as the Auto Avia 815 http://www.motorsnaps.com/v/Cars+F/F...i+815.jpg.html

The Rosso Maranello is a new color but the pictures were of an early first year 458. Here is another picture of the same 458 plus what may be the same 458 'on test' at Maranello back then. The test car looks a slightly different color but the pictures were only taken a few weeks apart back then and that shade was rare on a 458. Rosso Monza first seen earlier on the 599 is another deep red which has a characteristic slightly gold tone to it in direct sunlight.
