Glad to hear that you got your money back. IMHO, I could tell you that the only reason you probably got it back was because he was very close to getting collared. If he was collared he would be arrested for a felony. If he pled out to a misd., he would be ordered to pay restituiton anyway.

So here is how scammers usually work. If you did a criminal background check on him, he may or may not have a record. Sometimes they ACD(Adjudication in contemplation of dismissal) if restiuition is made, sometimes the person is a juvenile when the crime took place and his record is sealed, and sometimes they allow the person to plead out to a lower charge - sometimes to a violation rather than a crime.

However, I could tell you this, if you did a Lexus Nexus search under a scammer's name, you would most likely see a slew of civil lawsuits. It is unfortunate but most scammers know how to operate with a margin of safety. They are experts at walking that fine line between civil and criminal. It's amazing how adept some of these people are at being con men.

I don't know this guy personally and I'm only giving my opinion based on what I have read but it disgusts me to see my fellow F-Chat Brethren be taken advantage of. One of the worst things I think you could do to someone is take advantage of them. If some of these perps used there intelect for a noble purpose instead of being a con, they would probably be millionaires.

All wow.. He tried contacting me about tuning when I asked about it way back when on a thread. Obviously his name on here shares similarities as mine. I figured he might have been legit and shared the same common interest as me and just so happens to be on Ferrarichat. I figure not.

This is why I really hate doing business with Paypal. I got frauded so many times on ebay when selling things, people would claim I sold fakes when i had all paper work and legit receipts, When most these people had buyers remorse or wore and returners. Paypal granted them the right of return and full refund cause they get a cut too. One time, I even got a fake back in place of the real thing. A flight to the east coast, a lawyer, and a meet at their work righted the situation even though the item total less of what it cost to make it right.

When I did business with him he told me he didn't use paypal. Made me sign up for this stupid site called alertpay. God I hope this guy gets caught.

Add me to the list......when I was looking to upgrade my exhaust and inquiring about performance results, sound, etc. He Pm'd me many times saying " I am putting a order in to Japan, send me a deposit , I will get it here in two weeks or less" Ya....I didn't bite, but he was persitant. I still have the Pm's if someone will need it.

This guy is still in action. I recently ordered an exhaust for my 430, through a dealer, and someone from the dealer contacted me to offer a "scorpion" exhaust as a much cheaper option to the Kreissieg that I had asked for. The sound in the video clips that the vendor had supplied the dealer were very similar to the Kreissieg. In fact, the video clip in post 19 or 20 of this thread was in part the exact same clip as supplied as sound demo for the "Scorpion" exhaust.

I googled ferrarichat scorpion exhaust, this thread turned up, and I informed the dealer. To be clear the dealer wasn't pushing the product, just offering.

While I probably wouldn't have opted for the Scorpion, as in the long run it probably would have cost more than the Kreissieg (less value added upon a sale, if not the cost of swapping back to the stock exhaust)... I am still very grateful to the forum for pointing out this information.

This all occurred in the last month.

I had a done some other business with him in the past and was not thrilled on his response time back and other issues. I decided to pass on letting him sell Nouvalari and am glad I did. I am thrilled your all are getting your money back but what a bad taste,
