I'm starting to think the only reason i got my money back from this guy is because i paid him with a credit card, and it was only a deposit so he wasn't making a big score off me. Plus if I reported fraud the credit card company would get involved in finding him. Jesus why are people such piece of

How did you guys pay him. Maybe moderators can help with IP address, does anyone have a physical address for him?

We just went thru this with a fraudulent buyer.

I'm sure with the brainpower here this guy can be stopped/found.

Actually the guy lives in the Chippewa Valley,Wisconsin. Maybe someone who has been jilted by Shane Kent aka "Driftracer" could make a call to the Chippewa Police and let them know about the felonious fraud.
(Over 10k is definitely a felony)

There are 2 departments that would handle this: Eau Claire Police and Chippewa Falls Police depending on where Shane actually lives in the Chippewa Valley. I would try Eau Claire first.

Here is the link and phone number for Eau Claire Police Dept. (Eau Claire is the larger city in the Chippewa Valley)

Eau Claire Police Dept

http://www.eauclairewi.gov/police-home

Phone: (715) 839-4975

Here is the link for the Chippewa Falls police department: (Chippewa Falls is the smaller department)

http://www.chippewafalls-wi.gov/Depa...Policehome.htm

Chief of Police is a lovely lady named Wendy Stelter and the fine officers of the Chippewa Valley can be reached at (715) 723-4424

Cheers,

Roo

Best of luck to all of you. Have you tried contacting your CC companies and/or PayPal to reverse the charges?

Update:

I had a discussion with the Eau Claire, Police Detective assigned to the case, who said that he met with Shane last Thursday to discuss the activities. Shane explained that he received money for various items, but had run into some problems getting the parts so was unable to deliver on them. He further added that he was never intensionally trying to commit fraud but just ran into a bad business situation. Shane mentioned to the detective that he is still actively pursuing these items and has every intention to either deliver on them, or refund the money. He was reportedly cooperative and forthcoming with all information and didn't try to hide anything. The detective reviewed what proof he had supporting his activities, and said all appeared to be in order, so he did not arrest him at that time.

The detective discussed the seriousness of his actions with Shane and informed him that he had handled these transactions very poorly, re-emphasizing to him that this is no way to conduct business!

The detective will be following up with Shane, but is also submitting the case to the DA's office to await their decision for next steps. He said that they may provide Shane with some additional time to fulfill his obligations, but if he doesn't, they will take further action.

We'll see what happens....

For sure. Shane emailed me that my parts were shipping back on Oct 7th, then texted me that he was "expecting them any day now" back on Oct 18th, so clearly that wasn't the case.

Detective Wanta is aware of this and has copies of all my documents. We just have to wait and see what happens.

Driftracer....

This guy (Shane) tried to sell me stuff (tuning etc..) over a 1 year period. He even called me once. I asked him if he had a legitimate store front or biz licence and I never really got a straight answer, so I told him thanks but no thanks. Caveat Emptor!

Just dug this out from my PM. He was soliciting me for an exhaust. i did not buy.

(HIM) Have you made any progress on the exhaust search? Im telling you, the MSR is insane in person

(ME) When the weather breaks here in NY, I will start too look around. I want to hear some in person. I like youtube but its not like listening in person. Thanks.

(HIM) Hey Joe,
You get an exhaust for your 360 yet? I recently started importing Kreissieg exhausts, so thats always an option. Cheers!

(ME) Shane
I have not. I really want to hear some in person. Next Ferrari get together or I will ask to hear and compare. Thanks.

(HIM) Oh, gotcha. The Tubi and Capristo are a little more commong, but stuff like MS Racing and Kreissieg are very rare.
