40 DCNF new carby

Brand new 40 DCNF carburettors on my car. So nice to see every time I lift the back.
Six months ago when I first purchased the car the engine had a bad stumble at around 2 – 3k revs, it sounded like it was not getting fuel. For moths I spent hours and hours and around $1k in re jetting these old carbies. After a long time I did seem to stop the lag with large jets like 135 main and 65 idle but it sounded like it was drowning.
Someone told me it could be a air vacuum problem with the carbies and they suggested re fitted sealed bearings to the butterfly shafts. To check this I decided to place grease all over each side of the carbies around the old open bearings without taking them off, to see if this could be the problem. I re fitted the 55idle, 130 main, 220 air correctors and test drove the car. Yes I was amassed the stumble was gone!! I then removed the carbies and fitted new sealed bearings and before refitting them I looked down the inlet manifold to see water coolant sitting on the top of the valves, and realised that the gasket on the inlet manifold was no good, so I ordered new gaskets. I noticed that whenever the car warmed up it sounded like it was drowning in fuel when I backed of the accelerator, I now realised that when the water would heat up it would force itself in to the top of the valves, coursing water to go through the cylinder in to the exhaust. I also had a lot of black spitting out the exhaust every time I started the car, this had to be this water as well.

My old carbies were all refurbished now but I didn’t re fit them, I thought how nice it would be if the carbies were brand new. I started searching the net and I was having problems finding any new in the world but after talking in person to someone in Maranello they found me the last available 40 DCNF 54 55 56 57 Aus new on their shelves, at the same time I came across one more set in US. Because I found it very hard to find these I decided to buy both sets, one for my car and another for anyone who might need them in the future. So I refitted the inlet manifold and fitted the new carbies and the new carbies have 55idle, 125 main, 190 air correctors. The car runs so good, very smooth. If anyone would like their engine to look new please contact me about these beautiful carburettors I have here, and don’t forget for US, UK, they just need re jetting or maybe not.
So good.

Well they sure look nice; I'm not sure I understand the desire to put brand new carbs on (nor the need to buy all the remaining global stock) but... it sure looks nice!

Did you put sealed bearings in the new carbs?

You can’t get the brand new look from old carbies, the linkages and mixture screws shining like this is beautiful, and there is no wear on the shaft to the butterfly. No I didn’t fit new sealed bearings to the new because the shafts are new, I can replace them in years to come. My old Webers would have been fine now I reconditioned them but there is nothing like looking at these new one and the good feeling that they are new. I am advertising the new webers for $2,900.0 for the four or nearest offer, I really just want someone who needs them to contact me. pb@thekitchenco.com.au.

These carbies are new genuine Italian made Webers for the 308 Ferrari, not a reproduction.

New 40 DCNF webers

Just wanted to remind people of these brand new Webers I have here waiting for a new life on a 308 Ferrari. I noticed I made a mistake on the numbering of the carbies they are 40 DCNF 64 65 66 67. If your car is stumbling at 2 – 3k rev then these Webers will stop this. People are fitting larger jetting to stop this, because air is entering through the butterfly shafts and placing larger jets accommodates this extra air. I eliminated this problem straight away with these new Webers, they are very nice and my fuel consumption is much better. I can get 300km around town on one tank and 500km on the open road. Please contact me if you would like these Webers, peter@roombookings.com

The car will run too lean with those mains, I reckon. F36 emulsion tubes? Needs 140 mains.

If you're running F24, then you can come down a size to 135.
