There was a white dino at one of the auctions, not sure which one but it was a no-sale. it was on the trailer that picked up my car heading south. Driver said it was headed for FL.

That was a Bonham auction car...rumor has it that both Bonham Dino's were `no sales'. Surprising given that others sold very well to extremely well.

'72 246 GTS, SN#4004, Red/Black @Gooding & Co, target range $200k-250k
http://www.goodingco.com/car/1972-ferrari-dino-gts

It may have sold at $231k, but not sure if that's hammer price or with premium included...Gooding is terrible when it comes to posting results.

On behalf of myself and the company I would like to thank you for all the complements on 07908 "chairs and flares" It was great to meet you all in Monterey. I apologize to anybody that was not able to view the car at Italiano. The car was displayed briefly in the early morning for a couple of hours for judging and back to RM for auction viewing. The car did receive a Platinum award later that afternoon.

Regards,
Rex Nguyen

This car was/is gorgeous. From my knowledge of it, and given what the other top Dinos sold for, this likely should have sold for maybe $50,000 more. That is what happens though when a car is auctioned near the very end before a room that has only dealers in it.

dino gts averages

$1,796,000 devided by 6 = $299,333 or toss out the high and low sales - $1,097,500 devided by 4 = $274,375

It would be interesting to see what a perfect, best of the best, restored to original GT with all its tools and books in a highly desireable colour combo would sell for in that environment? More than a GTS or less?

Dare I suggest more in Europe, less here in North America?

No way. The "S" leaves the GT in the dust. And the gap is widening.

I think the gap will be closing, but I'm just a GT owner speculating. Fewer GT's come to market. Too bad we only had GTS comps from this past weekend.

Interesting...at the last two shows I attended, I can't tell you the number of people that came up to me and said they significantly preferred the lines of the GT over those of the GTS (and they weren't GT owners). I was starting to feel bad for my neighboring GTS owners.

Tom -

I'm still going to try to use these comps to have the value of my GT increased.

lets hope for the best -

Cheers
